Kazakhstan to export its railroad engineering products to Uzbekistan

During the visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to the Republic of Uzbekistan there were the 2nd Kazakhstani-Uzbek business forum and exhibition of Kazakhstan manufacturers in Tashkent on September 16, 2017. The delegation of JSC "NC" KTZh" headed by the president of the company Kanat Alpysbaev and the representatives of Kazakhstan enterprises of railway transport engineering took part in the activities as well.

Kazakhstan presented its railway products such as locomotives, electric locomotives, passenger wagons "Tulpar-Talgo", freight cars, rails, wheel-bandage and pointer products, as well as upper track materials. At the Tashkent train station the participants of the exhibition got acquainted with the technical characteristics of the diesel locomotive TE33A “Evolution”, the KZ8A electric locomotive and the Tulpar Talgo passenger carriages, delivered from Kazakhstan.

Kanat Alpysbaev informed the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan about the development of the cluster of railway transport engineering in Kazakhstan during their visit of exhibition.

"Within the framework of the state program of industrial and innovative development in Kazakhstan a full-fledged cluster of railway transport engineering has been created," K. Alpysbaev said and noted that "the partnership with the such machine-building companies as General Electric, Alstom, Patentes Talgo SL, Siemens promoted to launch the series of manufacturing the rolling stock with a transfer of innovative technologies in Kazakhstan."

This served as the basis for the development of new domestic productions of railway products (spare parts, components, units and equipment for rolling stock - more than 5 thousand items).

Cooperation is actively developing in the sphere of railway transport between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Kazakhstan delivered 4.9 thousand tons of rails to Uzbekistan: 3.9 thousand tons of Uzbek railway and 1 thousand tons to Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine.

During the inspection of the pavilion of JSC "NC" KTZh "the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that negotiations on the participation of Kazakhstan enterprises in the modernization of the Uzbek railways are being actively conducted.

Nazarbayev inquired about the work on ensuring the high-speed movement of passenger trains between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Kanat Alpysbaev reported on the regular cruising of the high-speed train "Tulpar-Talgo" along the route "Almaty-Tashkent".

"30 hours travelling way has been reduced to 17 hours," said the head of JSC "NC" KTZh".

Within the framework of the Kazakh-Uzbek business forum, JSC "NC" KTZh "and JSC "O'zbekiston temir yo'llari" signed an agreement for the delivery of 5 thousand tons of rail until the end of this year, an agreement was reached to conclude a long-term contract for the supply of 40 thousand tons of high-quality rail by 2020.

Within the framework of the official meeting of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev the "Agreement on strategic cooperation between JSC" NC "Kazakhstan temir zholy" and JSC "O'zbekiston temir yo'llari" was signed. The document is aimed at further long-term cooperation and mutually beneficial development of bilateral relations in order to increase the competitiveness of international transport routes passing through the territories of the Parties, as well as export of railroad engineering products.

The total volume of goods turnover of railway products is estimated at more than 320 million US dollars until 2020.

Kazakhstani railway engineering enterprises produced 303 locomotives, 62 electric locomotives, 552 passenger cars (including 116 with a broadened body), 7,321 freight cars and more than 200,000 tons of rails.
